Telefunken M80 Standard
High Quality Dynamic Vocal Microphone
TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik developed the M80 model to provide a much better alternative to the "industry standard microphone" used in recording sound source characteristics loaded with mid-range frequencies.
With its much wider frequency range and higher SPL capability, the M80 allows you to get condenser-like results from a coarse dynamic design microphone for vocal, instrument or drum performances in the studio or on stage.
Thanks to its small capsule and very thin (yet surprisingly durable) capsule membrane, the M80 actually allows the emotion traditionally thought of as being reserved for studio-quality condenser microphones to be captured from a stage vocal microphone.
While the top and capsule formation are protected by a network designed to ensure vocal clarity at active frequencies and to reduce the proximity effect, it has a structure that takes care to reflect power, clarity, openness and air from sound sources without creating the risk of feedback and whistling in the upper mid frequencies.
The M80 also features a custom made American coil impedance matching transformer, which is where the real magic happens. When combined with a custom capsule assembly, the result is exactly what we envisioned from the moment we launched it, and it resonates with our customers.
The M80 comes in two versions; the "Standard Version" comes with a microphone clip and bag, and the "Studio Set" comes with a microphone clip, wooden bag and an additional black metal head.
