Origin and Characteristics

You can identify the origin of the resin by its color. French and North American pure rosin is light yellow, while German pure rosin is quite brown.
Pure natural resin is transparent, easily ground into powder, soluble in alcohol and essential oils.

Each manufacturer has his own procedure for making rosin, which he keeps as a strict secret. As a result, all rosins today differ in quality and greatly affect the tone color of an instrument and the tone color of the technique.
