KingKORG NEO features our XMT virtual analog sound engine. XMT stands for eXpanded Modeling Technology and was created to deliver a wide array of sounds while maintaining simplicity in operation.

Gone are the days of laborious oscillator settings for sound crafting. KingKORG NEO simplifies this process with preset algorithms. These carefully designed combinations of different oscillator types and quantities allow you to sculpt rich, stage-ready tones with ease.

Meeting the demand for various tonal needs, KingKORG NEO comes preloaded with various oscillator algorithms. Ranging from classic sawtooth and square wave analog synthesizers to more complex noise patterns and PCM/DWGS, this synthesizer is equipped to meet a variety of musical needs and preferences.

Character creation with modeled iconic filters

At the heart of KingKORG NEO is its meticulously designed filter section, which is a cornerstone in defining the synthesizer's unique sonic character. We've equipped KingKORG NEO with a variety of filters that add a different flavor to each sound you create, which is where analog modeling really shines.

KingKORG NEO’s filter collection is a treasure trove for sound designers. It covers a variety of basic analog modeling filter types that allow you to shape sounds with precision and ease. And we didn’t stop there. We’ve meticulously modeled filters that reflect the iconic analog monophonic synths of the ’70s – favored for powerful leads and deep bass. We’ve also added the essence of vibrant polyphonic synths from the new era of the ’80s, as well as legendary filters from Korg’s own MS-20 analog synth.

One of the most fascinating features of these filters is their ability to self-oscillate when you increase the resonance, a hallmark of classic analog synthesis. This opens up a world of sonic possibilities, from creating ethereal textures to generating powerful resonant tones.

Vocoder wizardry

The KingKORG NEO synth is equipped with a balanced XLR input on its front panel and includes a robust, high-quality microphone. This setup instantly invites you to dive into the world of vocoders.

At the heart of KingKORG NEO’s vocoder is an advanced 16-band filter that rivals dedicated vocoder machines. This powerful feature lets you create classic vocoder tones, but that’s just the beginning. By varying the filter frequency with the formant shift function and precisely adjusting the level and pan of each band, you unlock unique and original sounds. Whether you’re going for vintage glamour or a contemporary vibe, this vocoder effortlessly adapts to any genre or style.

And there’s more – KingKORG NEO redefines flexibility. Timbre B can be skillfully used as a modulator, providing an alternative to the traditional microphone input. This allows the vocoder effect to be seamlessly blended with the synth sound, opening up limitless sonic exploration.

Additionally, each of the three oscillators (A and B timbres) can be individually selected as the source for microphone input. This unique feature allows you to synthesize a rich mix of voices and instruments, creating a timbre fusion that is both innovative and fascinating.

Built-in preset programs adaptable to contemporary music environment

KingKORG NEO's extensive library of 200 stage-ready presets has been created for the modern music producer. These presets cover eight categories, including SYNTH, LEAD and BASS, and offer an intuitive way to connect to find the perfect sound for any style.

Ingenious effects

KingKORG NEO enhances your sound with three main effect slots, each offering six different effect types.

The PRE FX slot brings the punch of effects like distortion and amp simulator. MOD FX adds the classic appeal of phaser, chorus and tremolo to your tracks. For creating spacious atmospheres, the REV/DELAY slot offers ambient effects including hall delay and modulation delay. These effects are easy to set up and select thanks to dedicated dials on the front panel for each slot, complete with FX control knobs for detailed fine-tuning.

Virtual patch feature

Embrace the spirit of classic synths like the MS-20 with the KingKORG NEO’s innovative Virtual Patch system. This intuitive feature brings the flexibility of physical patching of synthesizers to the digital age. With six Virtual Patch assignments available for each tone, you can virtually bind control signals such as EG, LFO, or joystick movements to key sound parameters including pitch and cutoff. This seamless integration allows for complex modulations and deeper exploration of sound shaping, bringing a new dimension of sonic creativity to your music.

Step arpeggiator feature

KingKORG NEO is equipped with a versatile step arpeggiator, a tool that brings your performances to life by automatically generating arpeggio phrases based on the chords you play. Customize your sound even further by choosing from six different arpeggio types. You can specify the duration, interval, and on/off status of each step, opening up a variety of rhythmic possibilities.

Effortless control

KingKORG NEO is designed with an original panel layout that combines the classic feel of analog synthesizers with the best of today's technology. This layout is carefully arranged in blocks to streamline your workflow by putting the right controls at your fingertips when making adjustments.

The Oscillator section features a dedicated display showing the name of the currently selected algorithm. By simply turning the adjacent dial, you can browse the options, see their descriptive names, and quickly move to different categories such as ANALOG or DWGS. Control knobs are strategically placed to adjust the most important parameters of each oscillator, allowing you to experience the tactile satisfaction of shaping the sound in real time.

Enhancing this intuitive experience, the KingKORG NEO features dedicated dials for each of the three main effects. This setup lets you try out different effects and hear their impact on your sound in the simplest way possible. Thanks to the self-illuminating organic EL display, visibility is crystal clear whether you’re under the bright lights of a stage or in a studio environment.

Favorites feature for ease of live performance

The Favorites feature allows you to select your frequently used programs with a single touch. You can assign a total of 40 programs to the eight category favorite buttons for quick selection.
