Vox's 12AU7 preamp valve that runs for up to 20 hours on 4 AA-size batteries.
Normally valves consume too much voltage to operate with batteries. Vox has managed to split the signal path in two, one with a servo circuit that tricks the valve into thinking it is operating at a higher voltage, and the other with a patented low voltage power supply that reduces the heat required by the valve, allowing it to operate with batteries. The result is a valve in an effects pedal.
Your amp's warm, silky sound is preserved when you're pulling the valve into overdrive. The Gain knob offers blues-style and soft, full and deep options. Tone adjusts the pedal's tonality, while true bypass splits the signal around the effects.
