The Chroma USB Drive is a dual USB-A and USB-C drive designed specifically for DJs. This drive features specially selected USB 3.2 memory for fast library syncing on Rekordbox and Engine (sync in seconds, not painful hours). Sync in seconds, not hours
Have you ever had to wait an hour just to load 100 songs from Rekordbox onto your USB? It’s not optimized for DJing. USB sticks rarely have actual read and write speeds for DJ-style transfers. The memory of most USB drives is not designed to quickly update lots of small files (metadata, cues, songs, analysis data, etc.), but is better at single/large files (ie: a single large video file). DJ libraries are not single files - they are many different files that need to be checked, updated, and then added - all at the same time.
Durability tested by DJTT for 1000s of hours
We tested these with 350+ hour (two week) marathon DJ sets, using the drivers in all Pioneer DJ and Denon DJ all-in-ones and media players (CDJs), heavy media recording (DJ sets, 4k ProRes video), Stressdisk testing to ensure the longevity of the memory, high dust/high heat environments in the middle of the Black Rock Desert, heavy repeated plugging/unplugging (500+ times) to simulate long-term wear on the connectors.
Maximum DJ equipment compatibility
The drive comes pre-formatted as FAT32. Yes, some newer DJ equipment can work with ExFAT and HFS drive formats, but for maximum compatibility with all DJ equipment, even units that are only 3-4 years old, FAT32 makes the most sense. For best results, you should leave 10-15% of the drive free to prevent library corruption.

The drive comes pre-formatted as FAT32. Yes, some newer DJ equipment can work with ExFAT and HFS drive formats, but for maximum compatibility with all DJ equipment, even units that are only 3-4 years old, FAT32 makes the most sense. The only major limitation is that you can’t copy files larger than 4GB to these drives. So if you want to store a very long lossless set on your drive or use it to copy other types of media, you can easily reformat it. We recommend keeping all your DJ drives FAT32 to ensure that older software and hardware will work fine in the future.
