Bullfrog is a classic subtractive synthesizer - it consists of several "modules" for sound generation - VCO, NOISE GENERATOR - and treatment - VCF, VCA / DELAY, as well as "modules" generating control and modulation signals to control them - ENVELOPE GENERATORS and SAMPLE & HOLD. Bullfrog does not produce sound on its own, unless patched using eurorack patch cables to connect the "modules" together or by installing sound cards that create internal connections between the "modules" in a certain way and add additional functions such as sampler / looper, sequencer, groovebox, etc. This approach helps to better understand the functionality of a subtractive synthesizer and the principles of sound design with such instruments.
