5-port AVB Ethernet Switch that turbo-charges your Ethernet network for voice and video.
AVB (audio video bridging) is a new IEEE 802.1 extension for real-time, low-latency, and fully synchronous audio and video over Ethernet. AVB brings together the world of professional audio/video with network technology.
MOTU AVB Switch enables you to easily set up your AVB compatible audio or video network applications with 5 1-GB AVB ports and 1 extra port for bridging. You can benefit from many features such as plug and play, guaranteed quality service and self-configuring network resource management.
Connect MOTU AVB devices to the system with CAT-5e or CAT-6 cables and start working. AVB supports automatic device detection and adjusts network bandwidth among networked devices.
You can work seamlessly up to 100 meters away from the connected device or AVB switch with standard CAT-5e and CAT-6 Ethernet cables.
With Gigabit operation, AVB gives you a large amount of voice channels and very low network latency.
Thanks to AVB network-based timing, differences are reduced to nanoseconds. Synchronization across the MOTU AVB system is as easy as a click.
To access Wi-Fi and the internet, simply connect via standard Ethernet.
AVB can work in conjunction with standard Ethernet. In this way, you can easily connect Airport or other Wi-Fi routers, and set up an entire Ethernet network for your office, home or studio via AVB. Thanks to its 6th input, you can make standard Ethernet connections without using 5 AVB inputs.
